Abstract
EPR spectra were carried out at room temperature for vapour phase grown Cd1-xFexTe (0≤x≤0.003) diluted magnetic semiconducting single crystals in the frequency range 8.8-9.6 GHz. The results confirm the presence of uncoupled Fe3+ in the samples of all compositions with characteristic g-value around 2.002 ± 0.001, giving rise to the associated paramagnetic behaviour. The line width (H) decreased as composition of ‘Fe’ increased due to dipole-dipole interaction between Fe3+ ions and the number of spins also decreased linearly with increasing Fe content. The magnetic studies on Cd1-xFexTe samples of all compositions revealed the Van Vleck type of paramagnetism of crystals..
