Abstract
Mn
site doped DyMn 0.9 Ni 0.1 O 3 compound by magnetic element Ni w as successfully prepared by a solid state reaction
method . The sample shows a n orthorhombic structure (space group Pnma) at room temperature. M agnetic properties,
including field cooled, zero field cooled and field dependence of magnetization , were systematically studied. The p lot of
reciprocal susceptibility can be fitted to a Curie Weiss Law in paramagnetic region , giving a paramagnetic temperature
Θ weiss 18.71 K, suggesting th e presence of weak antiferromagnetic interactions. It is also observed the narrow hysteresis
loops in field dependence of magnetization at T=2 8 K and 35 K, giving th e presence of weak ferromagnetic interactions.
T he hysteresis loop s disappeare d at low er te mperature of 20 K, indicating th e exist ing of the competition between
ferromagnetism and antiferromagnetism.
