Preparation and enhanced photocatalytic performance of g-C3N4/TiO2-SiO2

Abstract

The g-C3N4/TiO2-SiO2 was successfully prepared by sol gel method and calcination process. The samples were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, X ray diffraction and BET analysis etc. The results showed that the optimal amount doping of g-C3N4 with TiO2-SiO2 can improve the photocatalytic activity of the material. The enhanced photocatalytic activity can be ascribed to the beneficial microstructure and synergistic effects of g-C3N4 and TiO2-SiO2. The material can reduce the COD value of the actual wastewater effectively and it can also be recycled easily.
