Abstract
Sm
2 Ti 2 O 7 /HZSM 5 composite material was prepared by s ol gel method. Pyrochlore structured Sm 2 Ti 2 O 7 formed in the
unloaded Sm 2 Ti 2 O 7 and Sm 2 Ti 2 O 7 /HZSM 5. EDS mappings of Sm and Ti prove the loading of Sm 2 Ti 2 O 7 on the surface of
HZSM 5. Typical absorptions of Sm 2 Ti 2 O 7 appear in the infrared spectra of the Sm 2 Ti 2 O 7 /HZSM 5 samples calcined at
temperature over 800 o C . The maximum amount of hydroxyl radicals is produced on the Sm 2 Ti 2 O 7 /HZSM 5 sample calcined
at 800 o C . E CB and E VB of Sm 2 Ti 2 O 7 /HZSM 5 at 800 o C are 0.66 V and 2.77 V, respectively. The supported
Sm 2 Ti 2 O 7 /HZSM 5 has much improved activity as compared to the unloaded Sm 2 Ti 2 O 7.
