Abstract
In order to reveal the transmitting mechanism of silicone oil-based magnetorheological fluids, experiment equipment was set
up and testing experiments were carried out. Firstly, double viscosity model was introduced and magnetism theoretical
principles were presented. Secondly, three silicone oil-based magnetorheological fluids with different volume fractions of
magnetic particles 10%, 20% and 30% were prepared, and several testing experiments were carried out to describe the
rheological properties of MRF. Finally, a macroscopic model for mechanical characteristic of silicone oil-based
magnetorheological fluids was proposed..
