Abstract
In this work, porous CuO/Cu2O composite microspheres were prepared with a simple hydrothermal method. The porous CuO/Cu2O composite microsphere was applied for photodegradation of methylene orange (MO) under visible light irradiation with the synergistic effect of H2O2 and showed good photocatalytic performance to degrade the MO (100 % with the irradiation time of 70 min). The improved photocatalytic properties of CuO/Cu2O may be ascribed to the formation of p-n heterojunctions between CuO and Cu2O, resulting in the effective separation of photogenerated electron hole pairs and the enhanced absorption of visible light.
