Abstract
A characteristic matrix is presented to describe an acousto-optic tunable filter (AOTF). An orthogonal polarizing optical
method based on the matrix is developed to improve the spectral purity in the spectral measurement, which use an AOTF as
an optical splitting system. An experiment is performed to validate the orthogonal polarizing method..
