Abstract
Thermal stability and temperature response are very important parameters for fiber Bragg gratings (FBG) to be used as
sensors in high temperature applications. Experimental and theoretical analysis of the thermal erasure dynamics and
temperature response of FBGs written in hydrogen-loaded and non hydrogen loaded photosensitive fibers has been
carried out in the present investigation. The sensitivity and the behavior of wavelength shift of the gratings over the
temperature range of 35°C to 1075°C are studied and reported. The regenerative property and anomalous behavior of the
gratings were also studied.
