Abstract

The proposed work reports a technique to realize an optical frequency comb by the exploitation of cross-phase modulation experienced by an optical signal while propagating through the two semiconductor optical amplifiers placed in MachZehnder interferometric configuration. The periodicity and the compression of optical pulses define the frequency line spacing and maximum power deviation of the optical frequency comb. By doing so, we realize a 1.28 THz spectrally broad, 20 GHz line spaced, 2.3 dB spectrally flat, and 64-line optical frequency comb.

Keywords
